Together we can accomplish amazing things!

This power of collaboration and inclusion is the hallmark of the Tampa Bay Partnership since its inception in 1994. We are a business-led, regional economic development organization committed to the economic well-being of the seven-county Tampa Bay region.

Over 175 investors - companies, organizations and communities of Tampa Bay - have come together through the partnership to address the bigger, bolder issues facing Tampa Bay to make this a better place to live, work and play.

By coalescing regional leadership around key issues impacting the region, we have produced measurable results.

Members of the Tampa Bay Partnership share a common passion for improving the quality of life through engaging in issues our community believes are critical. These issues include transportation, redevelopment, affordable housing, marketing the region, industry development and leadership.

While our investors represent only a segment of the greater community, the partnership collaborates with other leaders and organizations who share common concerns. Through inclusion and cooperation, we are able to build coalitions to get things done. When we take a position on issues, we follow a rigorous and deliberative process to ensure all parties with a stake in the issue are invited, facilitate a dialogue, listen to the interests and concerns and find common solutions.

This collaborative approach was used to end the regional "water wars" and resulted in the creation of Tampa Bay Water.

The same approach was used to secure support for the Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority through a yearlong outreach effort meeting with hundreds of groups and thousands of individuals to obtain their input.

As leaders, we have taken a proactive position to help the region find solutions to some of its larger problems. As leaders we have stepped forward to seek understanding, gather the facts, communicate and, in many cases, provide support and advocacy. In the end, we want to build consensus and develop real, measurable solutions for our region.

It is amazing what we can accomplish together. Join us!

Roy J. McCraw, Jr. is chair of the Tampa Bay Partnership. Stuart L. Rogel is its president and CEO.
