Mariano Plans Party For Ballot Qualification
HUDSON - Incumbent Pasco County Commissioner Jack Mariano recently announced he has gathered 2,632 petition signatures to qualify for the election ballot.
Mariano, a Republican, is seeking a second term. Republican rivals in the primary are Rich Jenkins and George F. Vera.
In the Democratic primary, Ginny Miller and Lance Shortt are seeking the nomination.
Mariano invites the public to a campaign party from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Bobkatz Bar and Grill, 12536 U.S. 19, in front of Wal-Mart. For information, visit www .jackmariano.com.
Conover Certified For School Board Election
LAND O' LAKES - Members of the campaign committee for Kurt J. Conover, candidate for Pasco County School Board, District 2, recently announced that the Pasco County Supervisor of Elections Office has received, verified and certified the required number of valid petition signatures, 2,632, for his name to placed on the ballot.
The five members of the school board are elected countywide and must live in the district they represent.
Other announced candidates for the District 2 seat are Peter Hanzel and Joanne Hurley.
