TAMPA - Gov. Charlie Crist appointed seven people to the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council on Tuesday.
The planning council brings together representatives from Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Manatee counties to coordinate long-term growth plans for the Tampa Bay area.
The appointees, which will require Senate confirmation, are:
•Julian Garcia of Tampa, executive director of the University Area Community Development Corp.
•Robert Kersteen of St. Petersburg, retired.
•Barbara Sheen-Todd of St. Petersburg, vice president of marketing for the Small Business Media Network.
•Jill Collins of Tampa, partner in Barclay Partners LLC.
•Harry Kinnan of Bradenton, member of the Manatee County School Board.
•Laura Woodard of Tampa, president of GrassRoots Marketing Group.
•Earl Young of Zephyrhills, banker with Florida Traditions Bank.
Appointments of Garcia, Kersteen, Sheen-Todd, Collins and Kinnan run through Oct. 1, 2010; Woodard's and Young's through Oct. 1, 2009.

Didn't many of these people lose their recent bids for public office...Kersteen, Collins, Sheen-Todd?
What a great way to pay 'em off, Governor...
Help keep their names in front of the public until the next time they stick themselves out there for the voters to reject.
