Tampa Police: Dollar Store Worker Stabbed By Shoplift Suspect

A Family Dollar store employee was stabbed in the shoulder and ear Tuesday when she confronted a female shoplifting suspect outside the store, Tampa police say.
Amy Houck, 46, confronted Sonya Patrice Wyatt, 33, outside the Family Dollar at 6006 N. Nebraska Ave. about 6:15 p.m., police say. Wyatt stabbed Houck and threatened to stab Donella Ware, who tried to stop the fight, police said.
Houck was listed in stable condition at an area hospital.
Records show Wyatt is being held without bail at Orient Road Jail on charges including attempted murder, robbery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
No further information was immediately available.

Being an ex employee at that store, I am suprised the victim was not there by themselves, considering that is the only way to meet the companies stringent labor requirments. It makes me very happy to now I am no longer there.

You could'nt pay me enough to work in one of these stores.My mother was robbed at a 7-11 in Delaware, by a man with a shot gun,she gave him the money, he was caught later after robbing another store and shooting the clerk..Glad the ladies are going to be o.k. Hope they get a raise if they stay!

Her leetle frien' could have hit the jugular vein. I'd call that a deadly weapon. The victim is very lucky to be alive. I hope the company's worker's comp covers stabbings.

Mighty funny she risked her life to stop a shoplifter. I guess she wanted to steal the stuff herself. She has been arrested for WRITING BAD CHECKS so she's no better than the shoplifter.
