Terry and Linda Bollea talk to their son, Nick, through a video monitor at the Pinellas County Jail.

CLEARWATER - Hulk Hogan and his estranged wife get to visit their son via video camera without anyone else in the video visitation center, an unusual circumstance arranged by authorities.
On Sunday, the former professional wrestler, whose real name is Terry Bollea, and Linda Bollea showed up at the Pinellas County Jail on 49th Street to visit Nick Bollea, 17, who was sentenced to eight months in jail Friday on a charge of reckless driving involving serious bodily injury.
People visiting their own loved ones approached Hogan, and some wanted to take his picture, said Cecilia Barreda, a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.
"It was disruptive and disorderly in the video visitation room," Barreda said.
The couple were allowed to return Monday when no one else was at the center. Monday normally is not a visiting day for an inmate whose last name begins with the letter B.
The couple will be able to have the center to themselves from 3 to 4 p.m. Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays, Barreda said. That time usually is reserved for maintenance workers to clean the center.
On a typical visiting day, more than a dozen people huddle at various stations, looking at their loved ones on two-way monitors and talking with them by telephone.
Barreda said the arrangement for the Bolleas also benefits other visitors and the deputies who run the visitation center.
Bollea pleaded no contest Friday to a crash Aug. 26 that left his passenger, Iraq war veteran John Graziano, 23, with severe brain damage.

Me thinks the Hulkster is getting some sort of Paris Hilton-type special treatment. Could the jail officials be THAT star-struck??

Enough with the special treatment for this washed up has been. It's bad enough his son is getting special treatment on the inside. Now everyone has to move their schedules for his folks. Somehow regular people are going to get their visitations cut because this clown is disrupting the whole place by showing up. Hulk, you were a celebrity a long time ago, but you are not now. Get over it and start acting like everyone else.

I have never quite understood why people choose to put these celebrities up on a pedastill. I have seen Hulk around quite often as well as been in the presence of many well known actors, actresses, sports players, ect. and never once was I inclined to want to go bother them about anything. The only autograph I have ever had was from a ball player, Stan Musial, and I didnt ask him for it. But there are so many out there that think these people are gods. I just dont get it.

Perhaps I have misread the article, but could someone please show me where it states that Hulk ASKED for this treatment??? I think a lot of you are jumping to conclusions here. he never asked for special treatment (at least not in this article) and he wasn't asking people to come up to him for autographs. He is not trying to be a disturbance or use his celebrity status for any special treatment and it seems to me (by reading this article) that the sheriffs office is trying to make sure that it DOESN'T become a disturbance to others.
It sounds (once again, by reading) that Hulk and family tried to follow the same rules as everyone else and the sheriff saw it as a disturbance, not the other way around. In reading this article, it would occur to me that his presence is disturbing to the other inmates and visitors who ARE simply trying to make normal visits. Think about it - most of these inmates (not all) are low lifes who couldn't get things right in the first place and now they see Hulk Hogan??? And you think that they are NOT going to want to talk to him and get autographs??? In general, these people are on the lower end of education and living. They don't think like the average to highly educated person. My guess is that jail is the LAST place that the Hogans want to be an autograph and photo session! Also keep in mind that the frequent visitors will start to know the Hogans schedule and hound them, while disturbing others without any regard for anyone else, including the Hogans.

There are people doing years of hard time over smoking a joint, yet this walking piece of smegma gets a slap on the wrist..
The one good thing is that this little butt-wipe won't learn a thing, and will continue his idiotic driving and kill himself...
Hopefully he won't take anyone with him..(unless it's Bulkster and his bimbo).

I agree with the decision. I can't believe people would actually interrupt the Bollea family during visitation. Not to mention the money they'd make on pictures of them in the jail. It's not the Bollea's fault that many people can't keep themselves from acting like low-life morons in public. Have a little respect, losers...if not respect for them, then at least for yourselves. I really don't think PCS had to give the Hogans their own private visitation schedule....couldn't the correction officers just warn visitors not to disturb the Hogans or their visitations would be suspended..after all we are talking about a correctional facility and people usually don't argue with the deputies in fear of picking up a charge. Who has the upper hand there? They(PCS) also could have sectioned off an area for the Hogans so that no one else was around them. Now the taxpayers are paying for the deputies to supervise the visits because the visitation room would have been closed.

Cshultz110 is right, the hogans didn't ask for special treatment.
Lets see Nick gets jail time for a no contest plea while the person driving the other car that Nick was racing pleaded guilty to the same charges and didn't get any jail time.

I agree that Nick Bollea should have gotten punished, but everyone seems to be forgetting that John Graziano (?sp)was a grown adult that for could have said you have been drinking give me the keys, #2 he could have hooked his seat belt and #3 he could have said no thanks I will ride with someone else. I understand that John is seriously injured but he was the adult in the whole situation. He chose to be in the vehicle with someone he knew was going to be racing, so in my opinion some of the responsibility for the accident is his.

This is really a non-story. A father and mother are visiting their son in jail - not the greatest of times for them or their son. The fact that 'he has his arm around her' in the video only shows that Terry has some compassion for his wife. Compassion is surely a missing component in most of these posts. Nobody won this one - not Nick or his parents; and not the gentlemen who is forever injured.
Last comment - this did not cost the taxpayers more money- Jail security is there-and the camera is on, whether the Hogan are there or not.

Since when do we give special privileges to drunk drivers who maim the brain of their passengers?
Since when do we give special privileges to a father who bought cases of alcohol to drink with his son on his boat?
Since when do we give special privileges to a Mom who encouraged her children to race along side us and our precious cargo?
Since when do we give special privileges to parents who buy race cars for a 14yr,and then pay his speeding tickets?
How many of you guys had your parents do the above especially while you were failing high school and then went to jail??????

I think it's funny, the envy people feel for famous and/or rich people that is displayed in a lot of the posts on forums similar to this one. If any of the ones on here complaining about the "special treatment" the Bolleas are receiving were famous, you can bet they would be a proponent for the solution the officials worked out........It might not be worth much, but that's just my opinion.

First and foremost, I am deeply sorry that John and his parents have to go thought this, But i have a couple of things to say.
1st - Should Nick have to serve time, NO, but i do agree with all of the other stuff that he recieved based on his past driving record.
I understand that Nick is responsible for the people in his vehicle, but John (22 years of age = ADULT)had the right not to enter the vehicle to race. Also John made the decision not to wear a seat belt. As per the police and damage report (also adding pictures into the mix), most of the severe damage was done on the driver side wear Nick was sitting. He substained little injury because he had a seat belt on. Seat belts do save you from major injury and death.
What about the others in the silver Viper that they were racing? If Nick has to serve time shouldn't they have to also for contributing to the accident. They were all friends.
Also, no one knows how much John was drinking. Drinking effects judgement.
2nd - The County Jail decided to make special arrangements for the Hogans, that is what is said within this article and I don't blame the county jail for doing so. It could cause injury to staff and visitors, people like celebrities adn act like animals in a mob when they have a chance to meet one. They made the correct decision on this.
This is all i have to say at this time. People have to look into things instead of making ill judgements because of what others say. Look at the facts before you make comments.

Are you kidding me? For the low lifes, going to visit mom and dad in jail, its like trailer trash prom night! They take off from work, bathe, wear their best colors. To them the Hulk and Hulkette are the biggest superstars they will ever in their wildest dreams hope to meet. They're drawn to them like flies to ... Well you get the idea. They are in their element! Probably the first time since it was built people are trying to get in. Didn't you ever hear the old saying about birds of a feather? I can hear the braging down at the welfare office, "My son's in the same jail as the hulk's kid. We're gonna have 'em over ta put on da feed bag when we meet 'em."

Right on Captain07! It is unfortunate that John was hurt as badly as he was but he is an adult. He made the choice to get in that car knowing how Nick drove and it was not the first time he rode in a car with Nick. Everyone wants to blame the Bollea's instead of looking at the TRUE facts.
I find the remarks (What Iraq didn't take from John, Nick Hogan did) John's father has made repulsive! His family had no problem with their son being friends with the 17 year old son of Hulk Hogan and no problem with their son spending the majority of his time with the Bollea's. It's difficult for people to admit that John could be in a much better state had he made the choice to wear a seat belt or not get in the car with his 17 year old friend. Let's stop laying blame where it does not entirely belong!

They should be able to talk to their son without being disrupted by autograph/picture seekers. This isn't really special treatment. Yes he's famous but he has a right to visit his son, this is the only way they can do so without wasting most of their visiting time dealing with commotion. Special treatment would be actually SEEING their son, not looking at him through a video screen.

Captain07 and Sunshine13...I totally agree with you!! John was the adult in this situation. Some of the responsibility has to be put on him. He chose not to put his seatbelt on, he chose to get in the car with Nick, and if I'm correct I think he had spent the day with Nick and knew that Nick was drinking..and he may have been drinking himself.
Either way, the Bollea's are following the rules and trying to be like everyone else. It's not their fault if the people around them get star struck. The set visitation is to keep order in the jail and I think it is a smart decision. As for Mom and Dad visiting Nick 3 times a week...COME ON!! SERIOUSLY!! The kid is 17..yes he made a dumb decision, but he's manned-up and took his punishment...LEAVE THEM ALONE!! As a parent I would be there EVERYDAY for as long as they would allow me to be there if it were my child.

I cannot process these people that insist Nick is innocent and John is responsible for his brain damage. What am I missing here?? Should he have had his seat belt on? Heck Yes! Did he trust his friend not to kill him? Heck yes! Did he damage his brain when he got in the car without the seatbelt? or did he damage it when Nick drove recklessly and totaled the car? I will admit to one thing though, I'm sure John knew that Nick had a L O N G history of driving way too fast, way too reckless and Nick had a total disregard for authority and the laws that the rest of us abide by. He was a fool to even get in the car.
Nick should have gotten more than 8 months and his whole family is pathetic and I wish this story would die.

BBB and Captain 07 - y'all both need to grow up. The driver caused the crash that caused the injuries. The passenger did not contribute to the reckless driving and did not contribute to the loss of control. The driver who was tested to be a .05, did contribute all of the negligence that ultimately caused all of the injuries.
It is just to bad that he wasn't sent to prison, he deserved it. The driver of the other car should have been charged with reckless driving with serious injury (felony) and sent to prison as well.

I need to grow up, i dought it. 1st, have you even made a ADULT decision, I have. THe decision was not to get in vehicle with a drunk driver. I then called a cab home for my safety to get home. That what ADULTS DO. We make sound decision for our safety.
Secondly, He knew that they were going to race so why did he go then, another decision that he made.
So blame it on the driver, RIGHT? I don't think that John had a gun to his head to make him get in the car, NO. So punish the driver right, wrong.
The judge said it campletely right. That the whole thing should not be called an accident but a bad case in judgement, for all of you that don't understand that is "BAD DECISIONS".
Again, my heart goes out to John and his family, which i stated earlier.

cshultz110... I have to agree with you 100%. It is the idiots that worship other people (such as Hulk Hogan) and run up to them like the idiots they are for an autograph. How ridiculous is that. Begging another human being to scribble something on a piece of paper is amazing to me. They die and go to the bathroom just like all of us. It isn't them causing the special treatment, it's the idiots running up to them.

crashex, in case you were not aware everyone is allowed to state their opinions on this page. If you feel Captain and I need to grow up, that's your opinion. My opinion is that you should really run the grammar check before you submit your next post.
In response to your comment, a driver is indeed responsible for his/her passengers but the passengers are also responsible for who they get into a car with. John was well aware of Nick's history of poor driving and he was also aware that Nick was 17 when he got into the car with him. If he did not want to be part of the racing he could have so to Nick or asked to get out of the car. It is so easy to pass judgment and lay blame on others especially when they have celebrity status and lots of money to get out of a lawsuit. This would not be a big story if it had been two regular everyday people but everyone wants to find a place to lay the blame and not actually be accountable for their own actions.

This is the point that many people fail to get. The Hogan's are not anybody else, they are celeberties. Is their treatment different? You bet. I am sure that many people who go to jail to visit people are hounded for autographs and the press. People treat them different, the press treat them different, and now the jail is treating them different. You know why BECAUSE THEY ARE DIFFERENT.
The Jailers have a job to do. I will give the benefit to the jailers, that the reason that they are treating the Hogan,s different is not because they are the Hogan's, but because how others treat the Hogans. If the Hogans can go to jail and visit their son without all the termoil, than the jailers have no reason to change things. Do I think that the Hogans should be treated different? No. But than again, I am not or have I ever hounded them. They are different....

Nick should NOT be in jail. A man of responsible age chose to get into a car that was going to race and then chose not to put on a seat belt. This young man and his family need to take responsibility for his lack of responsibility. It is not Nick's place to babysit the guy!

I wonder if they would be so accommodating to a regular person.

If they wanted peaceful time to visit their son just maybe they should have thought of that 17 yaers ago. They have lived a fantasy all their lives, WELL HOGAN OR BOLEA WELCOME TO REALITY. The Bible clearly states to raise up a child in the way he should go and in the end he will not depart from it. Sad to say but you made your choices and now another familyis paying the price of having lost their son as they knew him, yes maybe Nick was driving the car at the time of the wreck, but he was only living what he was taught. Hopefully you see that everytime you try to close your eyes

That is so wonderful...isn't life wonderful when you're wealthy!! He and his family deserve to be treated much better than anyone else...RIGHT!!!!
The entire thing makes me puke, everyone should be treated the same...money or no money! If that were me or someone else that has next to nothing we would be is deep doo-doo!

Let's see, the Hogans have made an obscene amount of money by inviting people into their private lives and now they will be "bothered" by people who want to gawk and get their autographs? I bet they'll be a lot more bothered when no one watches their show. Yes this is special treatment and don't think it doesn't effect all of us. Who do you think is paying for the extra officer needed to supervise his visitation. It's not like there are guards just standing around with nothing to do. No, there is a cost to this and WE are paying it. Let's see The Tribune report on that story. I guess it's also a matter of time before Nicky gets to host all night poker parties so he has someone to talk too. After all, his mom told him his attorney would take care of things and make jail much nicer for him and I guess she was right. Heck, they'll probably be measuring for carpeting and picking out fabric samples for the upholstery next. For all you who think it's okay for Nick and the Bolleas to get special treatment, requested or not, I hope no child of yours ever has to go to jail. If they do, I hope they will get half the breaks Nicky has had so far.
