The state Department of Environmental Protection has launched a Web site to provide information about Raytheon's assessment of contaminated groundwater near its facility in St. Petersburg.
In a news release, DEP Southwest District Director Deborah Getzoff said the Web site "will provide immediate access to information about the remediation process as well as any updates about the work near the Raytheon facility."
In March, The Tampa Tribune reported that a toxic plume of industrial waste discovered 17 years ago is coursing through groundwater under some Pinellas County homes, according to samples drawn from test wells.
