What Happened To Turn Signals?

I just moved to Lutz in December 2007. I can't figure out why car manufacturers don't equip Florida cars with turn signals. It would save lives and probably lower insurance cost because the accidents would have to be reduced.

If I were a police officer in Florida, I would definitely target drivers for improper lane change/turns for not using turn signals. I have never experienced road rage before I moved here, but the Florida drivers can bring out the worst in anyone. People will cut you off to gain one spot in traffic, and when you're nice enough to let them in they can't even wave a thank you.
