SPRING FOCUS: Assistant Wayne Ward, the lone holdover from former Coach Kevin Kelley's staff, has been running things as Strunk, hired in April, is still in Pennsylvania. The Raiders have some things to do this spring, none more pressing than finding a new backfield as the team's top two rushers from 2007 are gone. Newcomer Sharod Hardnett and Lowe, whom Ward called the team's best athlete, are getting the bulk of the work there. The Raiders plan to tweak the playbook on both sides of the ball, implementing Strunk's systems, but Ward said they're keeping things very simple right now. Former Tampa Catholic star Kenny Kelly is coaching quarterbacks, which could aid the improvement of rising senior Stearns, a two-year starter.
