Motorcyclist Killed In Plant City Crash

PLANT CITY - A 69-year-old Dade City man died this afternoon after a station wagon crossed in front of his motorcycle at the intersection of State Road 39 and Knights Griffin Road, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Wylie Kimbrell, of 9631 Silverbend Drive, Dade City, was ejected from his 1994 Honda Goldwing motorcycle and died at the scene, the highway patrol said.

According to a crash report, Kimbrell was riding north on S.R. 39 and approached the intersection of Knights Griffin Road about 3 p.m. A 2008 Subaru station wagon driven by Claire Kitson, 76, of Lakeland, was traveling south on S.R. 39 and was turning east on Knights Griffin.

The front of the station wagon collided with the right side of Kimbrell's motorcycle, according to a highway patrol report. Kitson was not hurt in the crash, which is under investigation.
