TAMPA - Prosecutors filed formal charges today against a teacher accused of having sex repeatedly with two underage students.
Stephanie Ragusa, 29, was arrested three times in six week on charges alleging sexual acts with minors. The charges filed today relate to her second and third arrests. Formal charges already had been filed in her first arrest.
Ragusa first was arrested March 13 on charges alleging she had sex with a 14-year-old boy, with the acts occurring at various times from Oct. 1, 2006, through May 31, 2007.
She was arrested a second time on April 15 on charges alleging she had sex with another boy at various times from Feb. 15, 2007, through March 10. That boy was 15 when the sex began and turned 16 as the acts continued, sheriff's officials have said.
On April 28, Ragusa was arrested a third time after she continued to have sex with the second boy while she was out on bail for her first two arrests, sheriff's detectives said.
Prosecutors have consolidated charges from all three arrests into one case. She is being held without bail.
