Events

GARDEN TOUR: A Discovery Tour of Florida Botanical Gardens will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Meet at the Pinellas County Extension Welcome Center, 12520 Ulmerton Road, Largo.

The free tour will look at native plants and exotics suitable for a Florida-friendly landscape. All ages are welcome. To register, call (727) 582-2581.

Classes

POND LANDSCAPING: Pondscapes, 4213 S. Manhattan Ave., Tampa, hosts a free pond-building class at 9 a.m. on the last Saturday monthly. For information, call (813) 839-8062.

BONSAI: Eve's Garden, 5602 Land O' Lakes Blvd., Land O' Lakes, offers free bonsai tree demonstrations from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Call (813) 996-5012 for information.

BIRD FEEDING: Wild Birds Unlimited, 13140 N. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, offers free backyard bird-feeding classes at 9 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month. Call (813) 961-2772.

Meeting

BEGONIA SOCIETY: The Begonia Society of Tampa Bay will meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Tate Distribution Center, 6401 N. 54th St., Tampa. The program topic is common growing problems. First time attendees will receive a free begonia. Call (813) 838-0374 for information.

AFRICAN VIOLETS: The Upper Pinellas African Violet Society will meet at 7 p.m. June 2 at The Palms of Largo, 400 Lake Ave. N.E. The program will focus on "Wicks, Rings, Reservoirs and Pots" and the ways violets grow using a variety of techniques. Call (727) 398-7450 for information.
