TAMPA - Deputies say that while executing a search warrant at a Temple Terrace home Wednesday morning, they found owner David Smiles had about 280 marijuana plants inside.
When they arrived at 412 Courtney Drive, this is what deputies found, according to an arrest affidavit:
Each room of the house had plants growing, with a lighting system, ballasts, high-pressure fans and carbon filters.
Deputies also found more than 20 grams of loose marijuana in the master bedroom.
The report states that Smiles, 30, had more than 25 pounds of marijuana, but no amount is given.
Hillsborough County records show that Smiles also owns property at 15450 Osprey Glen Drive in Lithia and West Paul Avenue in Tampa.
Smiles was arrested at 1412 S. Moody Ave., Palma Ceia, at 4:30 p.m. He was charged with trafficking in cannabis, manufacture of cannabis, two counts of possession of cannabis – all felonies -- and two misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was being held at Orient Road Jail, according to jail records. No bail had been set.
