TAMPA -- Police say a man broke his 6-month-old daughter's leg after she wouldn't take her bottle.
Officers charged William A. Parker, 40, of 4420 W. Varn Ave., Tampa, on Thursday with felony aggravated child abuse. He was held at Orient Road Jail without bail.
According to police, Parker was caring for the infant on Tuesday when she awoke, crying, from a nap.
When the baby wouldn't take a bottle, Parker threw her into a crib, breaking her femur, police said.
The child was treated at a local hospital and is back in the care of her mother, police spokeswoman Laura McElroy said.
Detectives did not arrest Parker until Thursday because they did not have conclusive evidence until then, McElroy said.
