TAMPA – Children at a small, private school in South Tampa have been allowed back into their classrooms after a natural gas-line leak, according to Tampa Fire Rescue.

About 11:15 a.m. today, St. John's Episcopal School, at 906 S. Orleans Ave., was evacuated. Heavy equipment from a landscaping company broke the gas line near the intersection of Bayshore
Boulevard and Orleans, fire Capt. Bill Wade said. The leak was stopped about 12:10 p.m. Firefighters have left, but the gas company stayed on the scene to repair the broken line.

The company that struck the line today is the same company that struck a gas line Wednesday morning, Tampa Fire Rescue officials said. The company has not been named.

About 10 a.m. Wednesday, a line on Bayshore Boulevard and Watrous Avenue was struck. People were ordered away from the area until the leak was stopped.
