TAMPA - Tampa's attractions typically modify their offerings for the summer season and this year is no different.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

•Summer Nights: Extended hours until 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays from June 6-Aug. 17.

• Special entertainment after 5 p.m. during the three-month Summer Nights period, including a July 4 appearance by Chubby Checker, who popularized The Twist in the 1960s along with a remake with the Fat Boys in 1988.

•Jungala: The newest Busch Gardens attraction that opened in April offers enhanced opportunities to see nocturnal Bengal tigers, which are more active during evening hours.

The Florida Aquarium

Offshore boating ecotours every day Memorial Day weekend. Call (813) 273-4015 for more information, including departure times.

• The Explore A Shore water and adventure zone feature has reopened with new decking, Swim With The Fishes and Dive With the Sharks attractions open for participation by aquarium visitors.

Penguin Promenade at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. daily

Museum of Science and Industry

• First phase of a 13,000-square-foot The Amazing You exhibition opens with opportunities to explore developmental states of human life.

Tampa Bay Hurricane Expo on May 31, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with opportunities to talk with local and national emergency managers.

• Summer camp registration open for children in kindergarten through eighth grade at campfun.org.

Lowry Park Zoo

• Gator Falls grand opening June 14. Water flume ride and albino alligator exhibit.
Summer Safari Nights late closures at 8:30 p.m. and free rides after 5 p.m. on June 13, 20, 27; July 11, 25; Aug. 8, 15.

• WaZoo Beer Festival Aug. 2, 7:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m., with beverage and food sampling from local restaurants. Advance ticket sales begin in June.
