TAMPA -- A former administrator at the University of South Florida is suing the vice president of Student Affairs, alleging discrimination, court papers say.
Francis James Dragna, who was second-in-command in Student Affairs until October, filed a complaint in Hillsborough County Circuit Court on Friday. He is seeking reinstatement, lost pay, lost benefits and compensatory damages, according to the complaint.
Dragna, who is white, said in the complaint that his former supervisor, Jennifer Meningall, who is black, "engaged in a pattern of racially discriminatory conduct in the workplace" and retaliated against him after he complained about her in July.
The complaint states Meningall said upon terminating Dragna in October that she could no longer trust him.
University spokeswoman Lara Wade said the university would not be able to comment on pending litigation.
