TAMPA - Between Monday and Thursday, an Orlando man at the Tampa Airport Marriott racked up room charges, honor bar fees, a bar tab at the hotel lounge, movies charges, phone bills and more.
The problem was he wasn't a hotel guest, according to airport police.
Raymond Theodore Terry Jr., 39, was arrested Thursday and charged with 10 counts of felony petty theft, four counts of defrauding an innkeeper, fraudulent use of personal information and forgery.
According to reports, Terry told a clerk at the front desk on Monday that he was a registered guest in room 549. The man actually registered to that room had checked out the day before.
Between Monday and his arrest Thursday, Terry racked up $1,205.12 in room charges, more than $240 in room service, $76.50 at a hotel lounge, more than $50 at the airport Skyye Lobby Bar, $15.25 at the honor bar, $16.09 in movies and $2 in phone service, police said.
Terry is being held at the Orient Road Jail in lieu of $34,500 bail. Additional charges are pending, according to jail records.
Terry previously has served a handful of jail sentences on convictions for misdemeanor larceny, felony larceny and grand theft. In 2004, he pleaded guilty to defrauding an innkeeper.
