Published: May 24, 2008

Two days after the "American Idol" finale, the two Davids are still talking about music.

Not what they sang on the Fox reality show, but the albums they'll produce in the future.

"Idol" winner David Cook, sounding rested despite 48 hours of interviews and appearances, including a visit Thursday night to the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno," wants to ensure his CD is "solid."

"I want to make a record that will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up," he said Friday morning in a conference call. "I want it to stand the test of time."

Runner-up David Archuleta said he's definitely going to produce a pop album.

"I'm a teenager," he said. "I want to relate to kids my age."

Both will be here when the "American Idol" tour comes to the Forum in Tampa on Aug. 21.

Newman Not Directing 'Mice And Men'

Citing unspecified health issues, Paul Newman will not direct the fall production of John Steinbeck's "Of Mice and Men" at Connecticut's Westport Country Playhouse, the theater's artistic directors announced Friday.

Newman, 83, will be replaced by Mark Lamos, a former artistic director of Hartford Stage.

"'I'm sorry I can't be part of this Westport Country Playhouse production, but I leave 'Of Mice and Men' in Mark Lamos' very capable hands with the full support of my wife, Joanne Woodward, and Anne Keefe, as Playhouse artistic directors," Newman said in a statement.

Voice Of Lisa Simpson Files For Divorce

The usually chipper Lisa Simpson isn't sounding so happy these days.

Yeardley Smith, who provides the voice for "The Simpsons" brainy character Lisa, filed for divorce Wednesday from her husband Daniel Erickson, reports TMZ.com.

The petition filed in Los Angeles Superior Court cited irreconcilable differences for the split. Smith, 43, is requesting that she not be ordered to pay spousal support.

The couple tied the knot in 2002.

Actress Living A Dream In 'Recount'

Patricia Getty moved to New Port Richey in 2002 after serving for 26 years in the Philadelphia Police Department, which she left as a lieutenant.

In retirement, she decided to pursue acting.

Six years later, she has a role in the movie "Recount," airing at 9 p.m. Sunday on HBO, about the recount in Florida during the 2000 election.

She plays Margaret Tutweiler, who was director of communications for the George Bush election team. "She worked mostly behind the scenes," Getty said. "I have few lines, but I'm in about 20 scenes."

One of those scenes - the first time you see Getty - is as she, Tom Wilkinson (as James Baker) and Bob Balaban (as Bush aide Ben Ginsberg) get out of a Lincoln Town Car together.

Working with the likes of Wilkinson and Balaban was heaven, Getty said. The shooting in Jacksonville "was one of the most wonderful weeks of my life," she said. "I was working with Hollywood royalty and just complete pros. It was just fantastic."
