Veterans Gone But Not Forgotten

Two veterans groups and a cemetery association will honor fallen fighting men and women with Memorial Day observances on Monday. Here are the details:

•East Pasco United Veterans Council, 10 a.m. at Oakside Cemetery, on First Street between Eighth and 11th avenues in Zephyrhills.

•West Elfers Cemetery Association, 10 a.m. at the cemetery, west of U.S. 19 on State Road 54 off Baillie's Road (directly behind Suncoast Toyota). Local funeral home owner George B. Morgan III will preside over the order of service as he has done for the past three years. The association has mapped the cemetery and each year places a fresh flag at the gravesites. Several new flags will go up this year at unmarked graves the group has discovered. For details, call Jeff Cannon at (727) 992-9947.
