Published: May 25, 2008

Tips For Parents

•Don't get angry at your child for viewing inappropriate content. Instead, encourage your child to talk to you about anything he or she sees that scares, upsets or confuses him or her.

• Track your child's Internet history, and know screen names and e-mail addresses.

• Keep the computer in an open area of your home.

Tips For Teens

• Never agree to meet anyone in person whom you first "met" online.

• Keep your private information private.

• Tell a trusted adult if you receive any communication that makes you feel uncomfortable.
