BROOKSVILLE - A 29-year-old man was shot to death at the intersection of Buena Vista and Roberta avenues early Monday.
Brooksville police, responding to a 911 call reporting shots fired at 12:20 a.m., found Isaiah Collins, of 819 Twigg St., lying prone on the ground with gunshot wounds to his upper body.
He died minutes later at Brooksville Regional Hospital, police said.
According to police, drugs were found near Collins' body.
Around 11:30 a.m., police converged on the lawn of the house at the corner of Hernando Street and Fort Dade Avenue and cordoned off a red Nissan car with crime scene tape. Witnesses reported seeing a red car speeding off from the place where Collins was shot, but it's unclear what connection, if any, the Nissan has to the case.
Anyone with information is asked to call Brooksville Police at (352) 754-6800.
