NEW PORT RICHEY - A New Port Richey woman was arrested Saturday on four charges of animal cruelty after deputies found several dogs dying from starvation in her home.
Carrie Michelle "Kitty" Posey-Feddersen, 26, of 7030 Oelsner St. was arrested about 11:30 p.m. after her landlord complained about abandoned animals in her home.
Posey-Feddersen listed her occupation as a dancer at Silk Stalkings.
Her landlord told deputies the house had been without electricity for about 10 days. Neighbors told deputies Posey-Feddersen had not been seen at the house since the power was turned off.
Neighbors also complained about the smell of feces and urine coming from the house in the Timber Woods subdivision.
Inside the house, deputies found four dogs, three locked in a small metal cage where they appeared to have been without food and water for several weeks, according to the report.
One dog died as deputies examined the house, deputies said.
Posey-Feddersen was being held Sunday at the Land O' Lakes Jail, with bail set at $5,450.
