WESLEY CHAPEL - A 5-year-old boy was walking along a busy road when a Pasco County sheriff's deputy picked him up and searched for more than an hour for his parents.
Finally about 6 p.m. Saturday, the deputy found the front door open to Apt. 106 at 2410 Hillary Crest St. Inside, he and another deputy found John Sikorski, 34, passed out on the bathroom floor, according to an arrest affidavit.
When Sikorski awoke, he was disoriented, according to the report. He told deputies he had crushed Xanax and Roxicodone and snorted it in the bathroom while getting ready to take his son to the neighborhood pool. He remembered becoming dizzy, according to the report.
Sikorski told deputies he has a drug problem and that he had been prescribed the drugs for a past ankle injury, according to the report.
He was arrested on a child neglect charge and taken to the Land O' Lakes Jail, where he was being held Monday. Bail was set at $5,000.
