LAKELAND - A man accused of trying to kill a police officer Thursday turned himself in to authorities tonight, Lakeland police said.
Sergio Alberto Crandall, 36, is charged with attempted murder of a law enforcement officer. Crandall is accused of backing into Officer Aaron Peterman's patrol car Thursday as the officer was leaving the Lakeland High School parking lot.
Peterson and his dog, Charief, were not injured. Crandall was hurt in the incident but the severity of his injuries were unknown tonight, police spokesman Jack Gillen said.
Crandall turned himself in at Polk County Jail about 7 p.m.
