BROOKSVILLE — A 22-year-old woman says a man tried to abduct her at a gas station Tuesday night, Hernando County sheriff's deputies say.
The woman was buying gas and other items at the Mobil gas station in the 6200 block of Commercial Way when the man approached her and asked her if she had a cigarette lighter, according to a news release. She gave him her lighter, and as he returned it, he grabbed her arm and demanded she get into his truck.
She was able to free herself, get in her vehicle and drive away, the release states.
The suspect is described as a white man, about 6 feet tall with a medium, muscular build, hazel eyes, clean shaven with a military-style haircut. He was wearing a white tank top, dirty jeans and black work boots.
His vehicle was a light metallic-green 2007 or 2008 Chevy truck, possibly a Silverado, with two doors, an extended cab, a short bed, and window tinting on the back and rear bed windows.
