Classes

POND LANDSCAPING: Pondscapes, 4213 S. Manhattan Ave., Tampa, hosts a free pond-building class at 9 a.m. on the last Saturday monthly. For information, call (813) 839-8062.

Meetings

SUNSET PARK CLUB: The Sunset Park Garden Club marks its 80th year when it holds the last meeting of the season at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the garden center, 4624 Browning Ave., Tampa.
Committee chairmen will be introduced, and new officers will be installed. The new president, Jayne Smith, is the club's 50th president and has been a club member for 50 years.

After the meeting, the group will go to a restaurant for the annual luncheon. Call (813) 839-4603 for information.

BEGONIAS: The Begonia Society of Tampa Bay will meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Tate Distribution Center, 6401 N. 54th St., Tampa.

The program will address common growing problems. First-time attendees will receive a free begonia. Call (813) 838-0374 for information.

VIOLETS: The Upper Pinellas African Violet Society will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Palms of Largo, 400 Lake Ave. N.E., Largo. There will be a program on "Wicks, Rings, Reservoirs and Pots." Call (727) 398-7450 for information.

AND MORE VIOLETS: The Tampa African Violet Society will meet at 7 p.m. June 5 at the Ragan Community Center, 1200 E. Lake Ave., Tampa.
Lynne Wilson will present "Strep Ta What?" a hands-on program featuring the African violet relative the streptocarpus. A plant raffle and refreshments are included at every meeting. Admission and parking are free, and visitors are welcome.

BROMELIADS: Guest speaker Terrie Bert will talk about the types of plants in eight commonly known bromeliad genera at the June meeting of the Florida West Coast Bromeliad Society.

She will review natural habitats and growing conditions and give tips on propagation and pests.

The meeting is at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hope Presbyterian Church, 1698 S. Belcher Road, Clearwater. Visitors are welcome. For information, call (727) 544-9187.
