A brush fire in Alturas in Polk County this afternoon has been contained, public safety spokeswoman Heather McClanahan said.
No structures were endangered. Officials estimate the fire burned 10 acres.
Earlier this morning, firefighters from Polk and the state Division of Forestry contained a pair of brush fires burning near each other southwest of Bartow, officials said.
The fires, which started late Thursday, have burned about 20 acres, McClanahan said. They are near Noralyn Mine Road and County Road 640.
Forestry investigators are planning to look over the site of the Bartow fires today to determine their cause, McClanahan said.
No structures were damaged, and there were no injuries.
