I-75 In Sarasota County Re-opens After Brush Fire

NORTHPORT - A brush fire had closed the northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 75 between mile markers 182 and 187 for a couple of hours Friday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The Division of Forestry said the fire covered about 10 acres on the north side of the interstate and about two acres in the median.
Sarasota County Fire Rescue Capt. Tom King says that the fire likely was caused by humans.
The interstate has reopened.
