Shot Gibsonton Man In Serious Condition

A Gibsonton man remains in serious condition at Tampa General Hospital after he was shot Wednesday evening outside his mobile home, Hillsborough County sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.

A neighbor heard a loud popping sound about 9:50 p.m. and went outside to investigate, Carter said. Eric Cook, 21, was found lying next to a picnic table in the Glenn Acres Mobile Home Park at 7515 Symmes Road, Carter said.

Cook was shot in his left shoulder area, she said. Detectives have been unable to interview him because of his condition.
