TAMPA -- University of South Florida women's basketball assistants Jaida Williams and Shallon Pillow have accepted new jobs and are leaving USF.
Williams will be an assistant at Cal-Santa Barbara, while Pillow will be an assistant at Hofstra.
A 2005 graduate of Cal-Poly, Williams came to USF in 2006 after one season as director of basketball operations at Iowa. A 2002 Tennessee graduate, Pillow came to USF in 2005 and was director of basketball operations for one season before becoming an assistant in 2006.
Both Williams and Pillow will make more money as assistants at mid-majors than they did at USF. Williams earned $44,290 at USF and was the lowest paid No. 2 assistant in the BCS. Pillow earned $43,000 at USF and was the second-lowest paid No. 3 assistant in the BCS.
With the departures of Williams and Pillow, Jeff Osterman will be the only returning assistant this fall. Last week director of basketball operations Andy Christensen left USF for a position as an assistant AD at Cathedral High School in Indianapolis that he said pays $16,000 more than USF.
