DADE CITY - Applications are available for the third annual Miss Sparklebration Pageant held in conjunction with the Pasco County Fair Association's Fourth of July celebration.
The pageant is open to girls ages 5 through 21 who have lived in Pasco County for at least six months before the event, set for 7 p.m. June 28 at Dan Cannon Auditorium on the Pasco County Fairgrounds, 36722 State Road 52.
Five crowns will be awarded in these age groups: Wee Miss Sparklebration, 5 through 7; Young Miss Sparklebration, 8 through 10; Junior Miss Sparklebration, 11 through 13; Teen Miss Sparklebration, 14 through 16; and Miss Sparklebration, 17 through 21.
Contestants in the three older groups will be judged in evening wear. The two younger groups will be judged in age-appropriate dresses.
Cash prizes will be awarded in each group, along with crowns and sashes. The winners will reign at Sparklebration, set for July 3 and 4 at the fairgrounds.
The nonrefundable entry fee is $35. Late entries will be accepted on pageant day for $40.
The 2007 Sparklebration court will crown the new winners and entertain at the pageant. Last year's winners were Kayla Pate, Miss Sparklebration; Nicole Boyd, Teen Miss Sparklebration; Shelby Martin, Junior Miss Sparklebration; Courtney Graham, Young Miss Sparklebration; and Shelby Lynn Surratt, Wee Miss Sparklebration.
