Alzheimer's Disease Caregiver Workshop

Caregivers wanting to better understand how Alzheimer's disease affects relatives or friends can attend a free workshop sponsored by the University of South Florida Suncoast Alzheimer's and Gerontology Center.

"Alzheimer's Disease: What Caregivers Need to Know" will address issues including treatment, communication, troublesome behavior and legal and financial information.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 20 at the University Village Retirement Center, 12401 N. 22nd St.

What Is Alzheimer's Disease?

Alzheimer's is a disease that attacks the brain. It is the most common form of dementia: as many as 5.2 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease and about 10 million U.S. baby boomers will develop Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's gets worse over time, and it is fatal.
