THE DIFFERENCE: The Gryphons struggled through the first half, trailing 8-3. With their final chance at a playoff berth on the line, Coach Pat O'Brien found a way to get his offense started and it paid off when the Gryphons (3-6) scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns on Senior Night.
GAME NOTES: Sickles running back Timmy Adams-Beman has struggled with ankle injuries all season, but ran for a game-high 87 yards on 14 carries. ... The Gryphons scored first in the second quarter on a 22-yard field goal from Andres Vasquez, but the Yellow Jackets answered with a 13-play drive capped off by a 13-yard strike from Eugene Davenport to Michael McFarland. The two-point conversion made it 8-3 at the half. ... Blake scored on a 77-yard catch-and-run from Davenport to Phillip Davis to make it 14-6, but Sickles responded with a 35-yard toss from Cullen O'Brien to Matt Yost to cut it to 14-9, then scored with 2:33 remaining in regulation on a 4-yard run by Adams-Beman.
