THE DIFFERENCE: Tampa Bay Tech ran a consistent offense captained by QB Angel Rodriguez and RB Maurice Hagens. The Titans defense was also instrumental in not allowing the Middleton offense to score.
GAME NOTES: Middleton's only score came on TBT's first series, when Phillip Jones returned a blocked field goal 79 yards for a TD. ... The Titans answered on their next drive when Rodriguez scored on a 6-yard run. ... TBT built momentum when Ronnie Price blocked a Middleton punt, allowing Tim Stewart to recover and advance it to the Tigers' 25-yard line. Antonio Wallace capped the short scoring drive on a 7-yard run. ... Tampa Bay Tech's Derrick McCray ended the Tigers' first drive of the second half with an interception. McCray returned the pick 47 yards before he was pushed out inside the 1-yard line. After a false-start penalty, Rodriguez scored on a 6-yard run.
