Motorcyclist Dies In Sarasota County Crash

A 54-year-old motorcycle rider died in Sarasota County Saturday when a car turned in front of him at a light, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Edward Kaminski of Sarasota was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle south on Beneva Road about 4:33 p.m. when Eugene Swan, 85, of Osprey, made a left turn at the intersection with Wilkinson Road, the highway patrol said.

Swan, in the northbound lane, turned directly into Kaminski's path, the accident report said. Both men had a green light.

Kaminski was not wearing a helmet, the report said. No charges were filed, but the accident is still under investigation.
