Fast Finish Favors Letzig

PALM COAST - Michael Letzig birdied three of the final six holes Saturday for a 2-under 70 that gave him the lead in the Ginn sur Mer Classic when Ryan Palmer found water on the final hole.

Letzig, who shared the first-round lead at the Ginn Ocean Hammock Resort, finished off his run of birdies with a 7-foot putt on the par-5 18th that put him at 7-under 209.

He was one shot ahead of Kenneth Ferrie (67), John Huston (70) and Palmer, who had to scramble for bogey on the 18th after hitting his second shot into the water. Palmer, who was 9 under through 14 holes, bogeyed three of his last four for a 72.

David Duval, who was within two shots of the lead, took a double bogey in the third round and never got anything going on his way to a 74.

LPGA: In-Kyung Kim sank a 45-foot birdie putt on the final hole for a 3-under 69, taking a one-shot lead after the second round of the Kolon Championship at Incheon, South Korea.

Kim shot a bogey-free round and totaled 5-under 139 heading into today's finale of the 54-hole event.

She leads Hee-Won Han of South Korea (69) and Karen Stupples of England (70).

CHAMPIONS TOUR: Heavy rain in Sonoma, Calif., forced the postponement of the third round of the Charles Schwab Cup Championship.

Play was suspended at the Champions Tour's season-ending event for more 3 1/2 hours before officials made the decision to delay the remainder of the tournament until today.

PGA EUROPEAN: At Sotogrande, Spain, Lee Westwood trailed co-leaders Soren Kjeldsen and Sergio Garcia by one stroke when heavy rain stopped play for the second straight day at the Volvo Masters.

Westwood was at par through six holes during the third round, leaving him at 4 under before showers hit Valderrama. More rain is expected today.
