Roast, Fundraiser Is Set For Nov. 9

The Frank Sargeant Semi-Retirement Roast and Coastal Conservation Association fundraiser is scheduled for Nov. 9 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Skipper's Smokehouse, 910 Skipper Road in Tampa, off Nebraska Avenue.
The event, with emcee captain Mel Berman of WFLA, 970 AM, features live music, a raffle of outdoors gear and an assortment of insults for Sargeant, who is unsuccessfully trying to slow down after some 24 years as outdoors editor of The Tampa Tribune.
Captain Bill Miller of "Hooked on Fishing" and Glen Pla of "Average Angler Adventures," both on Bright House Sports Network, also will attend. The suggested CCA donation is $10 at the door. For more information, call (813) 971-0666.
