A 19-year-old Wimauma woman died in a traffic crash Sunday morning at Sun City Center and Pebble Beach boulevards, Hillsborough County deputies say.
Lluridia Villegas, a passenger in a 1994 Honda, died at the scene. Three others who were riding in the Honda were taken to Tampa General Hospital, where they are in stable condition.
The crash occurred at 1:48 a.m.
Ivan Espinoza was driving a 2008 Suzuki, following Ruby Munoz, the Honda's driver, who was heading west on Sun City Center Boulevard. Munoz entered the left lane and hit her brakes, and Espinoza struck the rear of Munoz's car, causing the Honda to enter the median, Hillsborough County deputies say.
The Honda then struck a tree.
Espinoza wasn't injured, and his passengers' injuries weren't life threatening, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.
Munoz, 18, of Wimauma, was taken to Tampa General Hospital in stable condition. Her other passengers were 11-year-old Brandi Munoz and Julia Bennett, who turns 19 Tuesday.
