Orbitz has predicted Lake Tahoe, Nev., will be this season's most popular ski destination based on customer bookings from throughout the United States.
Lake Tahoe also reported the lowest 2008 average daily hotel rate among the top 10 ski destinations at $116, compared with $286 at Vail, Colo., and $292 at Whistler, British Columbia.
The top 10 destinations:
Breckenridge, Colo.
Park City, Utah
Vail, Colo.
Aspen, Colo.
Keystone, Colo. (tie)
6. Winter Park, Colo. (tie)
8. Whistler, British Columbia
9. Banff, Alberta
10. Steamboat Springs, Colo.
The Orbitz online travel agency said last year was a record year for U.S. ski resorts, with 60.5 million visitors.
