The live-in boyfriend of an assistant central Florida public defender was charged with manslaughter in the woman's shooting death.
The Seminole County Sheriff's Office arrested 37-year-old Andrew Sherman Conley over the weekend. He allegedly shot 51-year-old Theresa Anderson in the chest while showing her a .22-caliber handgun.
Anderson's children, who were in the home at the time, told authorities there had been no arguing or fighting.
Conley told deputies he had taken a weapons safety course, at his girlfriend's urging, after earlier accidentally shooting into the couple's bed.
The two met in the 1990s, when Anderson represented Conley.
