Starting Nov. 5, WFLA-TV will begin airing Oprah in Spanish on the SAP/"secondary audio program" channel.
To access this audio, simply turn ON the SAP or secondary audio program if you want the Spanish translation and off if you don't. For your information, the second audio channel is called different names by manufacturers. Some call it SAP, Audio 2, MTS 2.
How to get SAP on your TV
If your TV set is a stereo TV set, you can select SAP by pressing the menu button on your TV or on your remote control. Select the audio function from the menu and switch to SAP from mono or stereo. If this does not work, consult your manual.
Are you getting SAP and don't want to?
Press the menu button on your TV set or remote control, you must find the buttons or menus that perform this function. Select the audio function, and return your set to either mono or stereo instead of SAP. Some typical procedures are shown below:
The remote control is the easiest way to inadvertently select the SAP channel and is also the easiest way to turn it off. There is usually a button labeled, SAP, AUDIO, MTS or SOURCE that will switch between regular audio and the SAP channel each time you push it. Many viewers push this button quite accidentally, but don't notice it until they tune to a station that broadcasts SAP.
If you can't find a button on your remote, then you may have to go to your onÂscreen menus. There is usually a menu choice for AUDIO that lets you select between STEREO (NORMAL), MONO or SAP. Many TV sets have this selection on the same "page" as BASS, TREBLE and BALANCE.
Can't find which button to push?
On many sets, the audio channel can be switched by remote control or through a SAP switch located around the tuning panel or "on screen programming." Usually, there is a setting labeled SAP, AUDIO SELECT, B-AUDIO, MTS or MENU. By changing the setting, you should be able to select SAP. Not all TV sets are alike, so you might want to check your instruction manual for all the details.
