9:01 p.m. The apparent passage of Florida's marriage amendment drew big cheers from Republicans at the Florida GOP's watch party in St. Petersburg.
The crowd is also fired up about local Pinellas County election results that appear to return Sheriff Jim Coats and Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark to office.
One thing the crowd is not thrilled about, however, is some of the presidential election returns. Collective disappointment filled the room when the national media called Pennsylvania for Sen. Barack Obama. Pennsylvania, like Florida, is seen as a must-win for Sen. John McCain.
The most recent returns show Obama leading McCain by a razor-thin margin in the Sunshine State.
