2 p.m.: Ignoring the homemade signs that say, "Not A Precinct," the woman rolls down her window and hollers, "Can I still vote in here?"
Outside the College Hill Public Library, the woman who did not wish to be identified pulls in anyway. For two weeks, the library served as an early voting site, where thousands came to cast ballots.
But on Election Day, the only business here is lending books, Senior Librarian Elisa Carlson says.
Inside, people mill about the bookshelves and quietly tap on computer keyboards. There are no voting booths, no poll volunteers, no candidate helpers outside waving and holding signs.
"We've had a few come in this morning," Carlson says. "But now it's business as usual. Well, actually it's quieter than normal. I'm actually getting some things done today."
The misdirected woman, who wants to vote, heads inside to check where her precinct is located. She pulls her young child out of her car's back seat.
"Yeah, Obama!" she yells.
