7 p.m.: Ernestine Sims of Carver City was on a mission when she voted for the first time today.
"I feel good," said Sims, 33.
But she cut it fairly close. Sims was one of the last voters to enter Precinct 338 at New Life Pentecostal Church of God at 17th Street and Bougainvillea Avenue.
The long lines of voters that popped up through the day were gone. She walked out of the precinct smiling.
"I voted for Barack Obama to make the world a better place," Sims said. "I've been listening to him. He talks good. I want him to change the world."
