5:15 p.m.: It's a few hours before the start of the GOP's festivities at the Hilton in St. Petersburg.
There's not much going on, other than TV reporters and photographers setting up and doing live shots. The party won't begin here until sometime after 8 p.m., but the news must go on.
Each station is set up on a small platform in the back of the room facing the podium. There are a number of tables set up for supporters throughout the ballroom covered in white tablecloths.
Hotel workers are bringing in the silverware and the glasses. We're waiting for the food which should be here within an hour.
Lucky for us, the Republican spread is traditionally a bit more elaborate than our partners will enjoy at the Democrats' party.
