3:04 p.m.: There was a line of people waiting to vote at the Alice Hall Community Center in Zephyrhills.
But that was Tuesday morning – before the precinct opened.
Just after 2 p.m., Steve Noall laughed when asked about the wait.
"What wait?" he said.
Noall said he voted for McCain, but added that he's not "a big fan one way or another."
About 20 percent of the precinct's eligible voters voted early, said precinct supervisor Ray Erickson.
"I'm surprised we didn't see more voters at noontime," he said. "It might pick up between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m."
There was a comparable lack of action at the nearby St. Joseph Parish Center.
"It's not too bad," said voter Steve Fleshood, a registered Democrat who voted for McCain. "I feel the Democrats are going to raise taxes and I don't think we can afford that."
