9:31 p.m.: The Good Luck Café in Ybor City mimicked a church – just for a moment – as partiers offered a minute of silence in honor of Barack Obama.
Some bowed their heads as if in prayer. Others couldn't help taking a peep at CNN, keeping tabs on their hero's progress through this long and emotional night.
Then, the DJ put on the spirited "Before I Let Go" by Frankie Beverly and Maze, and the silence skedaddled, most likely until the wee hours.
Men in suits and ties, girls in jeans and sparkly Obama T-shirts, and gray-haired women in high heels took to the dance floor, joyously throwing their arms in the air, shouting, "Go 'Bama, Go 'Bama!" in unison.
The party rocks on.
