Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark credits the high number of early voters and absentee and mailed in ballots as the reason everything went smoothly with the election in Pinellas County.
Because of the high number of absentee ballots and early voters, that held down the number of people who needed to go to the polls on Tuesday, and that kept problems to a minimum, she said. Clark said she was pleased with how smooth the elections went in Pinellas County.
There are still an unknown number of provisional ballots and some absentee ballots to be counted. She expects the county canvassing board will meet Friday to certify the results. With all precincts reporting in Pinellas county, the elections office says just under 72 per cent of the eligible voters cast ballots.
