Talk about a quiet room looking for a party! The tables are set, the candles are lit and TVs are blaring the early election returns, but here at the Barack Obama party in downtown Tampa all that's missing are the people.
It's early, and organizers tell me volunteers are being encouraged to stay at their polling places until each and every person has voted.
About 1,500 invited guests are expected here tonight. They are dedicated volunteers, staff and local leaders.
So far, the only one in the room (outside of the media) is Florida's Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink. She told me she has to be on a plane headed to Tally early in the a.m., so she's hoping it will be an early night in the Democrats' favor.
