Four years ago, Natalie Vinniane was registered to vote for president but decided not to.
Things are different this election.
Vinniane, 22, is now the mother of a 6-month-old boy. That changed her priorities, she says.
She voted about 8:45 a.m. today. Standing outside the West Tampa Convention Center, waiting for her boyfriend to finish voting for the first time ever as well, she says she was happy to have taken part in the democratic process.
She voted for Barack Obama and says her boyfriend plans to, too.
"Now that we're parents and stuff, we have different priorities," she says. "The baby can't make the decisions. We have to."
She says voting was easy and "pretty cool." She feels like she had a voice.
"We don't need another Republican right now," she says. "That's just going to be more of the same."
